Summary of Rules and Regulations
NO LIMIT HOLD'EM RULES
- Quad 8s or better must be beaten in order to qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot. Both the qualifying losing hand and the winning hand must use their two hole cards. For quads to qualify, the player or players must have a pair in the hole.
- Structured Hold’em games up to and including $10/$20 and the $1/$2 No-Limit games will be part of the playerfunded Bad Beat Jackpot.
- A maximum of $1 will be removed from all pots that reach $20 ($100 for $10/$20 Hold’em) to fund the Bad Beat Jackpot. There must be a flop for the $1 to be removed from the pot.
- In order for a hand to be eligible to qualify for a Bad Beat, the pot must meet a minimum of $20 ($100 for $10/$20 Hold’em) and a minimum of four players must be seated and dealt in at the start of the hand.
- The primary Bad Beat Jackpot will be paid out as follows: 50% will be awarded to the losing hand, 25% to the winning hand and the remaining 25% divided equally among the remaining players seated at the game who received cards at the start of the hand.
- Foxwoods will not be held responsible for typographical errors or misinformation on its website or in printed material pertaining to tournaments; players will not have any claim with regard to errors and/or misinformation.
Additional Rules for Play and Verification
1. In order for a hand to be eligible to qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot, the pot must meet the minimum requirement for that game limit. For the Jackpot to be awarded the hand must go to a showdown: all cards are dealt, all betting is complete and all hands are shown. The highest possible hand must be created using both hole cards.
2. A Foxwoods Supervisor must verify every qualifying poker hand and notify surveillance before any prize money is awarded. Surveillance must verify the qualifying hands. If the qualifying hands are not verified before a new hand is dealt, then the “qualifying” hand will be declared null and void for the Jackpot.
3. The Supervisor or designee will count down the deck to verify that a standard deck was in play. If there is any deviation from a standard deck, the hand will be declared null and void. If, upon inspection, markings on individual cards indicate to management that the deck in question has been compromised, then the hand will be declared null and void.
4. If there is evidence of collusion, the hand will be declared null and void. Collusion includes, but is not limited to, communication among players, verbal or otherwise, indicating the possession of a jackpot hand or a draw to such a hand. Remarks or signs that lead other players to believe that this is the time to attempt to play for the jackpot hand are prohibited; exposing cards before action is completed is prohibited.
5. Players who remove their chips from the game prior to a showdown in a qualifying hand forfeit their right to any prize money. If players walk away from the game after acting and leave chips on the table, those players will still be eligible for a share of a Bad Beat Jackpot for that hand only.
6. If a hand finishes with three qualifying hands, the lowest qualifying hand will receive only a remaining player’s share of the jackpot. For example if Quad Kings, Quad Queens and a Straight Flush are dealt in the same hand, the Bad Beat hand would be Quad Kings and the winning hand would be the Straight Flush.
7. If a Bad Beat Jackpot is hit on more than one table at the same time, the total jackpot will be divided by the number of Bad Beat winning tables. Then the jackpot will be dispersed on each table according to the percentages set forth above.
8. For each $1 collected, 60% will be added into the primary jackpot, 35% into the secondary jackpot, and the remaining 5% will be used towards general maintenance and marketing of the promotion.
9. Players must have an active Dream Card or WPT World Poker Room Card in order to collect winnings. Dream Cards are free with valid ID to players over 21 and are available at any Dream Rewards location.
10. Each winner will be required to provide a current valid ID and a social security number in order to collect any winnings. Prizes are nontransferable. US citizens will be issued a W2G on all winnings of $5,001 or more. Players from foreign countries will be issued a 1042-S and they will generally be subject to a US income tax withholding of 30% regardless of the amount of the payout. Exceptions may apply according to country of residence and income tax treaty, if the player provides an ITIN (International Taxpayer Identification Number) and completes IRS Form-W-8BEN. A maximum of $5,000 will be paid in cash; the balance will be paid by check.
