MASHANTUCKET, CT (May 13, 2015)Foxwoods® Resort Casino, the Northeast’s premier entertainment destination and “Wonder Of It All,” is rising to new heights and stepping out in exciting fashion during the grand opening celebrations for its new Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods. In a wondrous feat of skill and acrobatics, the incredible aerialist and daredevil Nik Wallenda will attempt a breathtaking 711-foot high-wire tightrope walk from the fifth level of Foxwoods’ Rainmaker Garage to the rooftop of its new Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods on Friday, May 22 at 1:00 p.m. And to commemorate this daring achievement, for every foot Nik Wallenda walks along the tightrope, Foxwoods will donate $7.11 worth of clothes from the new Tanger Outlets to the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut.

“We like to leave our guests breathless with anticipation when visiting the Northeast’s largest resort casino destination, and nobody in the world leaves them quite as mesmerized as Nik Wallenda,” said Felix Rappaport, President and CEO of Foxwoods Resort Casino. “He’s an amazing performer who has been leaving audiences astonished for decades. We’re thrilled to have him here during the grand opening weekend celebration for our new Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods. It will be thrilling as he walks high above the buildings of the 8.6 million square-feet of Foxwoods, North America’s largest resort.”

Nik Wallenda is a seventh-generation member of the Flying Wallenda's Family. He holds numerous Guinness World Records and was the first to walk directly over Niagara Falls and Grand Canyon. In 2010, Wallenda set the Guinness World of Records for longest and highest bicycle ride on a high wire above the ground in New Jersey, and in 2011, he set another world record by performing the “Wheel of Death” atop the 23-story Tropicana Casino and Resort.  Most recently, Wallenda successfully completed a two-part tightrope walk between two Chicago skyscrapers, setting two additional Guinness World Records.

At Foxwoods Resort Casino, Wallenda will attempt to walk along a tightrope stretched 75-80 feet in the air from the fifth level of the Rainmaker Garage to the rooftop of the new Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods. Guests will be able to view this amazing spectacle from lawn area in front of the main entrance to the Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods located directly across from the Grand Pequot Valet beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22.

Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, May 21 at 10:00 a.m. with an official ribbon cutting hosted by Drew and Jonathan from the hit show, Property Brothers. The festivities will run through the weekend and will feature personal styling sessions with a People StyleWatch fashion editor, a design workshop with the Property Brothers, an Instagram Tech Lounge, as well as special savings and giveaways.

As part of the May 21 grand opening celebrations, Tanger will also offer shoppers a chance to meet and greet Jonathan and Drew, as well as attend an exclusive workshop where the brothers will share design-on-a-budget advice. The Scott brothers have nearly 15 years of experience in the real estate industry and have a knack for finding down-and-out fixer-uppers and turning them into perfect properties for clients on their shows.

In addition, shoppers at the new Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods may stop by the Celeb Stylist Studio on May 21 and 22 to schedule a 10-minute styling appointment with a People StyleWatch fashion expert to create a celebrity-inspired look for less. Shoppers may then share photos from the People StyleWatch Studio tagging @peoplestylewatchmag to enter to win one of two $250 Tanger Gift Cards.
