Foxwoods Resort Casino is announcing its August Entertainment calendar, full of fun and exciting events for the entire family.  Known for its variety of shows, Foxwoods offers headline entertainment for every taste – from the biggest comedy stars from television and film to musical legends all in the intimate settings of two state-of-the-art theaters where there is not a bad seat in the house and the highest in sound quality and comfort make for a superior concert experience.

LEGENDS IN CONCERT 

WHEN:  August 1 – 31, 2014*

  • Legends In Concert live tribute show is known for its elaborate theatrical sets, magnificent costumes and a full array of incredible special effects, including three dimensional multimedia and multimillion dollar, state-of-the-art lighting, laser and sound systems.  This summer’s production includes Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Adele, Johnny Cash and Tina Turner.   General admission tickets are $30, with VIP tickets available at $40.   A complete listing of show times is available at foxwoods.com.

COMIX PRESENTS ANDREW DICE CLAY

WHEN:  August 1, 2014, 10:00 PM

WHERE: Fox Theater

  • Considered America's most controversial and outrageous comic of all time, Andrew Dice Clay was the first comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden back to back nights and remains the only performer to have ever been “banned for life” from MTV. He’s starred in numerous feature films including, “The Adventures of Ford Fairlane,” “Pretty in Pink,” and the Woody Allen drama “Blue Jasmine.” He has also released two best-selling DVDs, “No Apologies” and “Dice Rules!” and put out a string of CDs, including “Day the Laughter Died.” The show is for mature audiences only, and tickets are priced at $45, $55, and $65.

LION FIGHT 17

  • On Friday, August 1, world class Muay Thai is back at Foxwoods with LION FIGHT 17, which airs live on AXS TV starting at a special time, 9pm ET/6pm PT. The lineup of five live fights for LION FIGHT 17 includes Thai superstar Thepnimit “Mr. Knock” Sitmonchai making his American debut in a main event matchup with United Kingdom’s multiple world stand-up champion Dean James. The card will also include Rami Ibrahim vs. World Welterweight Muay Thai Champion Carlos Lopez; Victor Saravia vs. Andy Singh; local Ludlow, Mass. fighter Victor Monfort vs. Brett Hlavacek; and Gloucester, Mass. Pedro Gonzalez vs. Tim Amorim. The broadcast will feature play-by-play and color commentary by legendary MMA fighter and coach Pat Miletich alongside renowned sports commentator Michael “The Voice” Schiavello. Tickets are priced at $25, $55, and $95.

SAMMY HAGAR “A JOURNEY THROUGH THE HISTORY OF ROCK”

  • Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar will be joining forces with Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson on his “A Journey through the History of Rock” tour. Fans will have a rare opportunity to experience music spanning more than 40 years of Hagar’s career -- and with Bonham on board, they can also expect a few of Led Zeppelin’s biggest hits added to the mix. Sammy Hagar, also known as The Red Rocker, is a Grammy award-winning vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and musician. From breaking into the industry with the seminal hard rock band Montrose to his multiplatinum solo career and his ride as the front man of Van Halen, he’s set the tone for some of the greatest rock anthems ever written—with songs like "I Can't Drive 55," "Rock Candy," "I'll Fall in Love Again," "There's Only One Way to Rock," "Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy," "Finish What Ya Started," "Right Now" and "Why Can't This Be Love." OH WHAT A NIGHT OF DOO WOP AND ROCK N ROLL

  • This summer’s performances include Jay Siegel’s Tokens  “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” Mr. Jimmy Clanton “Venus in Blue Jeans,” Willie Winfield & The Harptones “ Sunday Kind Of Love,” Eugene Pitt & The Jive 5  “My True Story,” and The Mystics  “Hushabye.” Tickets are $40 or $50.

AUSTIN MAHONE

WHEN:  August 15, 2014, 7:00 PM

  • At just 18 years old, singer/songwriter Austin Mahone is making his mark. Kicking off the year with an MTV VMA win for “Artist to Watch” and MTV EMA awards for, “Best Push Artist,” and “Artist on the Rise.” His hit singles, “What About Love” and “Banga! Banga!” have collectively garnered over 55 million views on YouTube and can be heard on top radio stations around the nation.  Featuring The Vamps, Fifth Harmony and Shawn Mendes, tickets are priced at $29.50, $40, and $55.

COMIX PRESENTS GEORGE LOPEZ

WHEN:  August 16, 2014, 8:00 PM

  • Multitalented entertainer George Lopez is one of the most recognized and respected names in comedy today, having starred in ABC’s George Lopez, which ran for six seasons, as well as the TBS late night talk show, Lopez Tonight. Most recently he can be seen starring in his new FX sitcom, Saint George. On the big screen, Lopez can be seen in feature films such as “Beverly Hills Chihuahua,” “Swing Vote,” “Balls of Fury,” and “Valentine’s Day,” to name a few. A veteran of the comedy stage as well, Lopez has performed at premier comedy clubs all over the world, and has appeared in several televised specials, including his most recent HBO special, “It’s Not Me, It’s You.” He was also nominated for a Grammy Award for “Best Comedy Album” for his third standup album, “El Mas Chingon,” and has served as host of the Latin Grammys twice and co-host for the Emmy Awards. THE ISLEY BROTHERS FEATURING RONALD ISLEY

  • The Isley Brothers is an American musical group consisting of brothers Ron and Ernie Isley.  From gospel roots, the Isley Brothers embarked on a doo wop career resulting in its first million-selling hit single, “Shout” in 1959, with a follow up success in 1962 with “Twist and Shout.” Although the group has gone through a number of different lineup changes, they are one of the few acts to have successfully charted a single or an album in five decades. The group has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, as well as the R&B Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award.  Tickets are $45, $65, and $85.

COMIX PRESENTS WORLDSTAR COMEDY TOUR

  • The WorldStar Comedy Tour is an awesome line-up of comics that hit the stage for an amazing night of comedy. The show will be hosted by Charlamagne tha God; with Andrew Schulz, Byron Bowers, James Davis & very special guest Michael Che. Charlamagne tha God is one of the co-hosts of nationally syndicated morning show “The Breakfast Club,” he also stars in the MTV and MTV2 shows Guy Code, Girl Code & Guy Court. Andrew Schulz was handpicked by MTV as their new tastemaker; taking over the silver screen with five shows between their channels. Byron Bowers is a stand-up comedian and actor that appears regularly at The Hollywood Improv, and The Nerdist Theater. James just completed writing for the updated version of the FOX sketch comedy series In Living Color, and is a new regular on Chelsea Lately. Michael Che is a star on the rise; having recently been named one of Rolling Stone’s “50 Funniest People,” Buzzfeed's “50 Hottest Men in Comedy,” and Variety’s “Top 10 Comics To Watch,” he is quickly leaving his mark on the media landscape. A SPECIAL EVENING WITH MARCO ANTONIO SOLIS AND VICTOR MANUELLE

WHEN:  August 29, 2014, 8:00 PM

WHERE: Grand Theater

  • For the first-time, Latin American icons Marco Antonio Solís and Victor Manuelle will unite their song books of Latin Pop, Tropical and Regional Mexican repertoire for a romantic and danceable evening. Marco Antonio Solís is without question one of the most important figures in the rise of Mexican and Latin music to world prominence during the last two decades of the 20th century. After 20 years with the group Los Bukis, Solís initiated a solo career that resulted in platinum certifications throughout the mid-90s and more than thirty entries on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart, including multiple number one hits. His album, Gracias Por Estar Aquí, was released last fall and debuted at #1 in on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart. Victor Manuelle has steadily risen to the top of his genre. His success is attributed to his complete mastery of tropical music performance and his amazing improvisational abilities as a sonero singer. He belongs to an elite group of artists who have achieved sellouts at the definitive venues for every musician including Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall.  Tickets are $95 and $110.

COMIX PRESENTS GABRIEL IGLESIAS

WHEN:  August 30, 2014, 9:00 PM

WHERE: Grand Theater

  • Popular with fans of all ages, Gabriel Iglesias combines storytelling, parodies, characters and sound effects to create a witty, unique and hilarious comedy style. He is best known for his one-hour Comedy Central specials, “Hot & Fluffy,” “I’m Not Fat…I’m Fluffy” and “Aloha Fluffy.” Comedy Central specials came soon after Iglesias competed in the 2006 season of “Last Comic Standing." Iglesias soon earned his own Comedy Central series in 2011, “Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution,” which he took on a national tour. “Stand-Up Revolution—The Tour,” hit 90 cities across the nation, concluding with two sold out shows at the prestigious Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles. He has also appeared in “Magic Mike” and “A Haunted House 2,” and as the voice of Jimmy in “The Nut Job.” His movie “The Fluffy Movie”, a comedy concert film that captures the on-stage performance and inspirational success story of Iglesias, is in theaters now. , Mature Audiences. ZZ TOP & JEFF BECK WITH TYLER BRYANT

  • ZZ Top lay undisputed claim to being the longest running major rock band with original personnel intact, and in 2004, the Texas trio was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Billy F Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard have been ZZ Top for more than 40 years. Jeff Beck rose to prominence as the guitarist for the British Invasion band The Yardbirds. He went on to record with two incarnations of The Jeff Beck Group, and achieved commercial success as an instrumental solo artist. Beck is known for his virtuosity as a guitarist, and for his inventive jazz-and-blues inflected compositions. Today he is recognized as a groundbreaking artist whose inimitable combination of primal shredding and cool perfectionism has left an indelible mark on everything from hard rock and jazz-fusion to rockabilly and techno during the past 40+ years. The show will also feature special guest Tyler Bryant, a 21 year old guitar prodigy.  Tickets are priced at $55 and $80.
