Foxwoods Resort Casino, the largest resort casino in North America, welcomes comedian and political satirist Bill Maher on Sunday, May 4 at 7 p.m. The 32-time Emmy nominated performer combines unflinching honesty and big laughs to produce uproarious and unprecedented routines.

Maher started his career in 1979 as a stand-up comedian. Two of his nine stand-up specials for HBO – 2007’s “The Decider” and 2005’s “I’m Swiss” – have been nominated for Emmy awards.  His most recent, “But I’m Not Wrong,” came out in 2010. 


For more than twenty years, Maher has set the boundaries for funny, political talk on television, first with Politically Incorrect (Comedy Central, ABC, 1993-2002) and for the past 12 years on HBO’s Real Time.


In 2008 Maher partnered with director Larry Charles to produce Religulous, which became the seventh highest grossing documentary in history.  In addition to his television and movie work, Maher performs 70-80 live shows each year, selling out theaters nationwide. He also has written five bestsellers; True Story; Does Anybody Have a Problem with That? Politically Incorrect’s Greatest Hits; When You Ride Alone, You Ride with Bin Laden; New Rules: Polite Musings from a Timid Observer; and most recently The News New Rules: A Funny Look at How Everybody but Me Has Their Head Up Their Ass.
